SOLANGE URDANG OBE · WEST END CENTRAL

THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE PLACE

Opening doors.
Developing talent.

Solange has spent more than three decades working in performing arts education. She held senior roles at the Urdang Academy from 1991 to 2022, including more than twenty years as Chief Executive Officer, helping to build its international reputation for training and inclusion.

She was awarded an OBE in the 2024 New Year Honours for services to dance and musical theatre. Her work continues across Urdang International, Urdang International Awards and the Global Performing Arts Alliance.

Solange co-founded Link Artists Agency and the Black British Theatre Awards, serving as Co-Director of the awards until July 2025. Across education and the wider industry, she has advocated for greater access, representation and opportunities for emerging talent.

A London home
for theatre makers.

Together with Thomas Hopkins, Solange co-founded West End Central as a London home for rehearsal, development and production. Her experience in training and supporting performers informs a venue built around the people who use it.

Seven accessible studios, singing rooms and production offices at 259–263 Goswell Road support casting, rehearsals and the preparation around a production. Daily, weekly and exclusive hire options give companies room to work.
